Arizona Educational Resources: Renewable Energy

AZURE (AZ Utilities Renewable Energies Education)

AZURE is an education-outreach partnership between Arizona’s electric utility companies, designed to educate Arizonans about Renewable Energy resources – those sources of energy which are inexhaustible because their use today does not diminish their availability tomorrow. On the Azure website you’ll find information and lessons related to renewable energy sources, solar energy, biomass, wind energy, hydropower, and geothermal energy: http://www.azureeducation.com/

APS (Arizona Power Supply)

APS has developed a renewable energy education program including vocabulary and Arizona state standards, posters, presentations (a set of power point slides or PDF pages on renewable energy sources, hydropower, solar, geothermal, wind, biomass, and biogas), and a fun “Renewable Energy Passport” workbook available for lower elementary students. A scavenger hunt using the graphic information contained in the posters and the Renewable Energy Sources presentation to encourage both individual and group participation. A Passport complete with answers is also available: http://www.aps.com/my_community/renewable/energy_4.html
